Hunting elephants
Politicians promise that, if elected, they will hunt elephants.
Consultants don’t hunt elephants, or anything at all, but they can be hired to advise people who do.
Quality-control inspectors ignore the elephants and look for mistakes the hunters make.
Lawyers don’t hunt elephants, but they do fight about who has to clean up the droppings.
Salespeople catch rabbits, paint them grey, and sell them as elephants.
Managers believe that if elephants are paid enough, they will hunt themselves. [PERIOD]
